Taste Acuıty Of Obese Indıvıduals

Abstract

In this study, taste acuity of obese individuals has been examined. Ten obeses and ten control groups have been choosen to compare the taste acuity. BMI of the obese individuals in this research was found as 31.6 kg/m2 but BMI of the control group was found 23.0 kg/m2.The difference between obese individuals and control group has been found significant (p<0.05). While the difference between sweet taste acuity and weight has been found significant (p<0.05), no significant relationship was found between weight and the taste acuities of salty, sour and bitter tastes.
